Description

Callaway Diablo Edge Irons Stiff/Regular

Callaway Diablo Edge Irons Steel/Graphite

Callaway Diablo Edge Irons 3-9PS

Callaway Diablo Edge Irons is the longest stainless steel irons Callaway has ever created so far.

Debuting on Jan. 15, 2010, the Diablo Edge irons provide increased distances compromising neither feel nor performance. Its lower, deeper center of gravity (CG) makes the sweet spot more accessible and is in line with where the ball most commonly hit by amateurs on the clubface, generating longer, consistent distance and improving accuracy.

Company line: "Our longest stainless steel iron ever, the Diablo Edge offers integrated iron/hybrid set options to optimize performance and preference. Our unique technologies like VFT, S2H2, and a 360-degree undercut channel all contribute to the Diablo Edge's combination of distance and extreme forgiveness."

 Main Features:

1. Greatest Distance

A lower, deeper CG is designed to make the sweet spot more accessible at lower impact locations. It generates greater, more consistent distance and perfects accuracy for more greens in regulation.

2. Set Options

Get greater distance through the complete bag by opting for matched hybrids in the set where you start to struggle with your irons

3. Solid Impact Sole

The Diablo Edge irons also feature Callaway's "Solid Impact Sole," designed to improve turf interaction and help golfers who catch the ball fat or thin. They are a game-improvement set aimed at mid- and higher-handicappers.

4. Perfected Feel and Performance

Callaway Golf core technologies like VFT, S2H2, a 360-Degree Undercut Channel and Modified Tru-Bore cooperate with each other. This perfects the distance, feel and playability.

Our Testers say:

PROS: Highly rated for distance control; a great anti-slice iron; solid distance output, and mis-hits go longer than expected; long irons are easier to hit than some hybrids; the big sole goes through rough easily and gets the ball in the air quickly; at address, the cavity masks the overt game-improvement design.

CONS: Lacks precise feedback throughout the set; testers want better short-game performance; thick topline can be distracting.

I shoot in the mid to low 90s and am getting increasingly better. By the end of summer I might be able to break 90. I've been looking into the Diablo Edge and Callaway X-22 and 24 irons. What are the best irons for my skill level?
Administrator Reply:Hey, Dear sir/madam,
Thanks for your message. I think all the clubs you have mentioned are within your capabilities. it's more a matter of trying them and deciding what feels, looks and works better for you. I would stick with a regular flex as a freshman, one of the biggest problems with young golfers is this mind set to swing the club with all your might...yeah it might get you some distance.

I play Diablo Edge. They have the performance of forged but are more forgiving than traditional forged club. I particularly enjoy hitting the four and five irons .
